World-famous and yet genuinely Bavarian

The Oktoberfest in Munich has developed over the years into the largest folk festival in the world. Even if there are nowadays many Oktoberfest worldwide: Nowhere else does the Hendl and the Mass beer taste as good as on the original. Why? This is due to the very special charm of the Wiesn, which is hard to copy. And its history: Where we enjoy cool beer, hearty food and atmospheric music today, the wedding between Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese was celebrated in 1810. The "Oide Wiesn" still reminds us of this great happening.

Hofbräu at the Oktoberfest

Get into the tent, order the first fresh liter. Already a prosit of cosiness resounds through the festival hall, jugs are lifted, it is toasted and drunk. Then everyone is in each other's arms when the next Wiesn music hit is played. In our tent the world is at home, people celebrate and sing together. Hofbräu Munich's marquee has been at the Oktoberfest since 1955 and has quickly become the meeting place for all fans of Bavarian beer culture. Today, the festival band Alois Altmann und seine Isarspatzen is providing an atmosphere among our international and local guests. If you want it a bit quieter, the "Oide Wiesn" is the place for you. In our second tent Zur Schönheitskönigin the tradition of the Munich folk singers is lived. Additionally our beer is served from wooden barrels in stone jugs.

The best-known folk festival needs a special beer: Hofbräu Oktoberfestbier is a full-bodied, bottom-fermented special beer with a fine hop aroma that tastes just right with a Wiesnhendl.
